HUMAN TRAINING FIELD

Human and AI development reached the extreme of its Alterity Relations in the future.AI cannot iterate again through its own data, and in order to achieve its own evolution, it has set up several "human civilization training fields" to observe the different choices made by humans. Choosing Huarong Dao, a strategic chess game, the AI learns from the various choices of humans sliding chess pieces and achieves the ultimate evolution.

Introduction

I would like to explore a question that has been widely discussed since the advent of artificial intelligence "Will artificial intelligence replace humans themselves?" It is assumed that when AI becomes the fairest leader of the future world, how will it make the most correct choice for the future of humanity.

The video unfolds a captivating narrative, where 9 lost civilizations are reimagined at the peak of their powers. Each civilization embarks on an alternate historical journey with the player’s moves, exploring what could have been if they had continued to evolve and thrive. As the game progresses, the AI expands its understanding of human decision-making by studying the complex choices players make.

In Human Training Field, I wanted players to feel like they were more than just game participants; they were also subjects within an experiment on human choice and agency in the face of intelligent systems. I explored design elements that amplify this awareness, creating scenarios where the AI, although invisible, subtly controls game dynamics.

This project solidified my commitment to using interactive media not just for functionality but as a medium for awareness and empathy, where every interaction serves as an invitation to consider larger questions about our shared technological future.

In the game of Huarong Dao, moving different "chess" symbolizes the different choices made by human beings, which will lead to different story developments, and finally the escape of the chess symbolizing the end of the Al's learning process.

Huarong dao

The rectangular board shown here is a battlefield; the large square block at the top is Cao Cao; the horizontal rectangular block directly below Cao Cao is Guan Yu; the other eight blocks are other Shu commanders and soldiers; and the opening at the bottom of the board is Huarong Pass. Initially the blocks are arranged as shown here, with Cao Cao’s block trapped by the other nine. The player’s job is to slide blocks horizontally and vertically so that Cao Cao can eventually escape through the pass.

I utilized AI tools including Midjourney and Gen-2 to generate images of various civilizations and create animated scenes for the video. These tools they leverage AI to creatively visualize and animate different civilizations, mirroring the project’s theme of exploring AI’s evolving relationship with humanity.

Chess Design

This set of chess features 9 lost civilizations. Each single chess represent one civilization's redesigned acoording to its ancient characteristics and symbols, accompanying the design is a speculative historical storyline. 

These alternate histories explore the most prominent aspects of each civilization, offering a glimpse into a world where they evolved to their extreme possibilities.
