Overview

Our team directed its attention to the intricate and often overwhelming process of event planning, particularly in the context of weddings. The specific objective was to devise an interactive, tangible tool - the EVT Planner - that simplifies this process, adding organization, efficiency, and enjoyment. The appeal of this problem lay in the universal challenges associated with event planning and the prospect of transforming a stressful task into a creative and pleasurable experience. We were driven by the concept of blending physical interaction with digital efficiency, envisioning a tool that not only aids in planning but also enhances the collaborative experience between planners and clients.

The Second Prototype:

Multi-User Journey Map:

Throughout our design journey, the map remains a steadfast reference point, ensuring that user experiences consistently occupy a central role in our decision-making processes.

In analyzing the prototype iteration, significant insights were uncovered to refine tangible tool design. Key findings highlighted potential confusion in the budget section, stressing the importance of a user-friendly interface for numerical data. It became evident that intuitive interactivity is crucial, prompting strategic changes to improve user flow and clarity.

Enhancements include revamping the budget section, introducing engaging interactive elements, and streamlining the user journey. These adjustments reflect our commitment to creating a more seamless and intuitive planning experience that aligns with user needs.

A key feature of this iteration is the ability for users to dynamically change the total budget during the planning process. This empowers users to make real-time adjustments to financial allocations, providing a more responsive and adaptive planning experience.

To further enhance user engagement, we've incorporated animations into the prototype. These animations serve to provide visual cues, guide users through the planning process, and create a more interactive and enjoyable experience.

Paper Prototype helps us to determine the structure and layout of all the function at the very beginning of the process.

Closing Thoughts:

The most formidable challenge encountered during the design phase of the EVT Planner was crafting a seamless interaction flow for users while incorporating all essential elements in the event planning process.

With more time, I would prefer to spend more time on primary research: interviewing various wedding planner, clients, and vendors. I would make sure the entire flow is clear and compelling for the user. In addition, I might potentially introduce additional features or optimizations based on evolving user needs.
